Straightforward demo of the Sawyer Mini water filtration device.

Having researched a number of water filtration systems from bulk filters to personal ‘life-straws’ the one that impresses me the most is Sawyer’s SP128 ‘Mini’.  It’s compact without restricting the flow of water through it too much. It only weighs 60g and has a 0.1 Micron absolute hollow fiber membrane inline filter which removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera and E.coli; and 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium. It also has an impressive lifespan of 100,000 gallons or 378,540 Litres (at least according to the manufacturer).

As part of a comprehensive water processing provision in my prepping I don’t think I can go wrong by adding a couple of the Sawyer Minis to my kit.  With some purification tablets and the provision to boil, I should have things covered when any stored fresh  water supply runs out.
